New title for X-Files sequel: The X-Files: I Want to Believe
The truth is finally out there about the new X-Files movie title.
The second big-screen spinoff of the paranormal TV adventure will be called The X-Files: I Want to Believe, Chris Carter, the series' creator and the movie's director and co-writer, told The Associated Press.
Distributor 20th Century Fox signed off on the title.
The title is a familiar phrase for fans of the series that starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI agents chasing after aliens and supernatural happenings. "I Want to Believe" was the slogan on a poster Duchovny's UFO-obsessed agent Fox Mulder had hanging in the cluttered basement office where he and Anderson's Dana Scully worked.
"It's a natural title," Carter said in a telephone interview Tuesday during a break from editing the film. "It's a story that involves the difficulties in mediating faith and science. `I Want to Believe.' It really does suggest Mulder's struggle with his faith."

Harrison Ford is a portrait of rugged individualism
Indiana Jones always finds what he's looking for in isolated, faraway places. The same could be said of Harrison Ford.
The leading man of Star Wars, The Fugitive, Witness and Air Force One— and of course Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, coming May 22 — is happiest in the private 800-acre woodlands around his Wyoming home or soaring over the American landscape in one of his many private aircraft.
But he also sees the pleasure in a simple California day hike. Today, he's tackling the trailways of Temescal Canyon, a public park tucked into the oceanside mountains of the Pacific Palisades just outside Santa Monica. Read the Interview

Directed by actor-turned Jon Favreau - and due in theaters next May - Iron Man boasts a main character who's a far cry from the usual Marvel Comics mutant teenager or irradiated geek. Diablo Cody dissects Jennifer's Body
Fox's new movie Jennifer's Body, reteams Juno director Jason Reitman with his Oscar winning screenwriter Diablo Cody. With Reitman producing this time out, Karyn Kusama has jumped behind the lens of their upcoming horror show.
She is the master storyteller behind the acclaimed Girlfight as well as the much maligned Aeon Flux. The plot of Jennifer's Body revolves around a demon-possessed cheerleader (Megan Fox) that takes to feeding off the boys in a small Minnesota farming town.
In the movie, Adam Brody plays the frontman for brooding rock group Low Shoulder. On this gloomy day, shooting was taking place in a faked out bar where Low Shoulder would be performing amidst a raging inferno. While we didn't get to see any actual scenes take place, we did get to chat with Diablo Cody for a bit. In the very near future, we will have her entire interview, as well as an extensive look at the making of Jennifer's Body. Read More
Madonna to show film at Michael Moore's festival
Madonna's new film on the impoverished nation of Malawi has wowed another maker of documentaries: Michael Moore.
Moore announced Thursday that Madonna, like himself a Michigan native, will appear for a screening of "I Am Because We Are" during the Traverse City Film Festival on Aug. 2.
"She's sort of entered my realm," Moore said. "When I saw it, I thought, 'Wow, it's like she's been making these films for years."
Madonna produced and narrated the documentary after traveling to Malawi, where she met the toddler David Banda. She and husband Guy Ritchie are adopting the child. More
